We went to the airshow yesterday. The base is practically in our back yard. It was fun, but very, very hot!! The Blue Angels flew as usual. Great show, the kids were excited!
There is nothing like the sound of those beauties flying over your head... ahhhh. the sound of freedom!!

Well, we finished up our first week of homeschooling on Friday. So far, so good. B is doing: Alpha Omega Language Arts for Grade 9, Apologia Exploring Creation with Biology with Apologia, the CD version, Lifepac History, Grade 10 and Quest Genesis for Bible, and Teaching Textbooks for his Geometry. S is doing: Discovery God's Perfect Plan for Biology, Lifepac History, Horizon's Grade 5 Math, Learning Language Arts through Literature for her LA and Spell and Write and Grammer both with Evan-Mor and is doing Penmanship in her spare time.. LOL.. Whats that? We have very full days. Do far I like the curriculums, they seem easy enough to implement and do, so we shall see.
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have the compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH
I am recovering from surgery. Who knew out patient surgery could hurt so much?! haha.. I have been taking my percoset which helps alot, but I think it has been making me dream. I have had the most vivid dreams the past few days. I am still sleeping alot. Hubby went back to work today and I napped when the baby napped. I know I haven't mentioned it here but I have a one year old foster daughter. She is going to be going to live with her daddy soon. She is an absolute sweetheart, such a good baby, we have completly fallen for her. We just pray that her daddy and his wife will cherish her as much as we have. We have had her only 2 1/2 months but it seems like she has always been a part of the family. Anyway.. I am trying to recover. I went to Target today on the way there I was pretty light headed, plus it was so incredibly hot out which didn't help. I felt better once inside and cooling down. Okay.. I am going to go relax and let this percoset kick in.. bye!!!
p.s. I have my new homeschooling curriculum, I will update later.
okay, its official.. I am the parent of a legal adult. That is sooooo scary! My sweet little boy is 18 today!
I just loved that little boy more then words could ever say. When I brought him home from the hospital I was so proud.. and sooo happy!!!! He is a great kid, I couldn't ask for a better teenage son.
I love you!!!!!!!!
Tuesday question from Randi's site I have to say is "how do you homeschool? Well, this will be my first complete year homeschooling our children. I have taken many suggestions on which curriculums to decide from and I think I have come up with what will work for us...but then again you never know until you try it if it will work for you or not. We will have many "unschool" days where we might spend an hour or two at the library, or an hour at the park on park day (when this hot weather is gone), or going to the zoo, etc. So How do I homeschool is still up in the air, we are still getting a feel for everything.. heck it took me weeks to decide on currirculum! LOL! So I am just going to take it one day at a time, and if someone can tell me how to come up with a schedule I would be more then grateful! LOL!
Randi over at I have to say.. is posting different questions this week for everyone to answer regarding homeschooling questions.. Today's question is What led to your decision to homeschool?".
Well, I had my kids in public school up until March of last year. My daughter and son had always did great, advanced classes, student of the month doing great etc. except things changed last year. I wasn't to crazy about the school my daughter was in. This is a title one school, which not to say they are bad or anything but the children that went there were clearly out of control. Not all of them, but MOST of them. I noticed this on several occasions when volunteering in the class room and having lunch with my daughter. The things that I heard come out of those kids mouths blew me away and I am talking elementary kids!! The children in my daughter's class were totally disrepectful to the teacher, and she let them walk all over her. I did not want my daughter exposed to that kind of behavior day after day after day. Our little neighbor girl was in the same class as my daughter and some little boy told her to.. well lets see how can I put it.. do something to a part of his anantomy? !! What!!?? These kids have to learn this at home and we are subjecting our kids to learn all this wonderful stuff from these children when we send them off to public school with. We have not idea what goes on in these children's homes and what they are teaching our kids. My daughter would come home and do these "dance moves" that she had learned which I did not think were appropriate.. okay.. dancing is okay, but this kind WAS NOT! Also the little neighbor girl was subjected to teasing every day because she is very overweight, she also was a trouble maker, loved the attention she got from it then would get in trouble, when she would complain to mommy she would come over and question my daughter to see what "really happened", I got tired of my daughter being questioned all the time, it was stressing to her. I wanted my kids home, where they belonged, and I can teach them about God at home, :::gasp::: LOL. When my son saw how much my daughter enjoyed it, he wanted in on it, so he is being homeschooled now as well. So thats it, just tired of the public school system. My daughter has learned so much being at home anyway.. like how to do math the good old fashioned way, not the public school systems "new" way..
I should just rename this "My cooking blog" LOL!! I tried these sandwiches tonight, found the recipe over at The Pioneer lady cooks Her recipes are the best and so darn good!
